Lesley Wingfield is an artist based in Athlone. She was born in London but has been a resident in Ireland for many years.

She is a founding member of Shambles Art Studios, Athlone where she continues to practice.

Using her own photographs and sketches of people, she captures an unguarded moment, this is then portrayed by drawing or painting and working from dark to light on different scales.

Her work is included in many collections including IMMA, OPW and numerous private collections with exhibitions around Ireland and France.

Lesley has been awarded numerous bursaries, residencies and project funding from Westmeath County Council, Create Ireland and recently selected for second round of 2020 BP Portrait Award.
